Coston Wins PNW PGA Senior Players’ Championship

Wine Valley Director of Golf Tyler Sweet, PGA and champion Jeff Coston, PGA

A field of 112 PGA Professionals and amateurs played for the PNW PGA Senior Players’ Championship trophy, April 12-13 at Wine Valley GC in Walla Walla, WA.

PGA Professional Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo G&CC (2018, 2006) won by four strokes over PGA Professional Billy Bomar of Bomar Putting Company. In third place was PGA Professional Rob Gibbons of Arrowhead GC.

Amateurs Scott Waley of Broadmoor GC and Mike Swingle of Aldarra Golf Club tied for low amateur honors.

There was a four-way tie for the team champions (Four-Ball Competition): the teams led by PGA Professional Al Patterson of Canterwood G&CC with Don Bidinger, PGA Professional Chris Repass of Veteran Memorial GC with Jay Poletiek, PGA Professional John Freitas of Aldarra Golf Club with Mike Swingle and PGA Professional Bruce Stewart of Stone Creek GC with Jeff Neilson.

The Senior Players’ Championship is a two-man team competition of one Pacific Northwest PGA Professional and one amateur playing both an individual and a four-ball competition. The individual professional and individual amateur competitions have both gross and net payouts. The Team Four-Ball Competition is based on gross scores only.
