Seize Your Opportunities
It has often been said that “opportunities are like sunrises. If you wait too long you miss them.” As we find ourselves in the middle of July, there have never been more opportunities for you to enjoy the programs and events of your section. Tournament season is in full swing, chapter activities are strong, and the chance to enroll in future, special events is now open.
As a member service organization, the Pacific Northwest Section of the PGA has an obligation to every one of you to not just “rinse and repeat” the events and programs you may have enjoyed in previous years. Our job is to constantly evolve, to always improve the quality of your experience, your membership, in our section. To that end, entries are still open and available for our two newest destination pro ams – Mexico and Arizona. Both the 2021 Pelzer Golf Mexican Paradise Pro-Am and the 2021 PNW PGA Arizona Sun Pro-Am are brand-new opportunities for you to field a team of amateurs and enjoy two beautiful settings. I invite you all to come out and support your Section while enjoying spectacular, destination golf. I am happy, also, to announce that entries are now open for our return to Hawaii in January 2022. I would remiss if I did not remind you to enter YOUR Section Championships—PPC, Sr. PPC, and Assistant are all on the horizon. I encourage you all to find the time to play and compete. Looking out a bit further, keep your eyes open for registration for our Annual PNWPGA Merchandise Show. Registration will open soon, as we return in-person to Tacoma Convention Center October 19-20, 2021. Lastly, DCP local qualifying is well underway with sub-regional qualifying to begin August 3.
Most of what we have the privilege of producing for our members is done in partnership with our wonderful sponsors. I would like to publicly thank Club Car for continuing their generous financial support of our Skins payouts. Additionally, my thanks to Pro Tag for designing custom bag tags for many of our events including our destination pro-ams like our Arizona event. As professionals in the great game of golf, seizing opportunities are nothing new for you. As a regular habit, in your life and in your career, you develop a clear vision of what you want, you set goals, and you take consistent action. I encourage you to see yourselves in your chapters and your section similarly. You should always have extraordinary opportunities. We, your section staff, are here to ensure that you always have occasions to do just that, and that when you do that your experience exceeds your expectations.
