PNW PGA Callaway Golf Challenge – Results

The PNW PGA Callaway Golf Challenge concluded on August 29 at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA.  We had a strong field of 18 teams of PGA Professionals and amateurs all vying for the title of the Callaway Golf Challenge Team Champions and Callaway Golf Challenge individual Champion.  

The team led by Grant Cation, PGA of Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club with amateurs Mark Rix, Jeff Chessum and Mike Johnson were crowned PNW PGA Callaway Golf Challenge Team Champions. The team consisting of PGA Professional Craig Schuh of Deer Park GC with amateurs Ray Dunn, Jim Richards and Jeff Kilgore finished second.

PGA Professional Jacob Wilson of Hamilton GC earned low professional honors, winning the PNW PGA Callaway Golf Challenge Individual Champion title. He won by two strokes over PGA Professional Craig Schuh.

Low amateur honors went to Tyler Gabriel of The GC at Birch Creek and Steve Vancil of Arrowhead GC.

The second annual “PNW PGA Callaway Golf Challenge” is an exciting invitational pro-am tournament brought to you by the Pacific Northwest PGA and Callaway Golf. Teams earn spots based on points earned through support of Callaway Golf product. Each invited team consists of one PGA Professional and three amateurs.

Suncadia Resort

Suncadia offers two scenic championship golf courses on its 6,400 acre property in Washington State. Set within a pine and fir forest with lakes and ponds, Prospector Golf Course, designed by Arnold Palmer Course Design Company, is adjacent to the 18-room Inn at Suncadia. Family friendly Rope Rider Golf Course, designed by Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design, is named after the coal miners who precariously balanced themselves on the coal cars that maneuvered the steep slopes of mine shafts. The foundations and portals of mines No. 9 and 10 remain on the course, along with Tipple Hill – a 120-foot hill of coal tailings.

Prospector Course – 18 holes of gorgeous mountain golf, with rolling, well-bunkered fairways, fast greens, and plenty of risk/reward challenges for golfers of all abilities.

Roper Rider Course – Beautiful Jacobsen Hardy course tests experienced golfers with more than 7,300 yards of classic Washington State golf, it also offers family-friendly options, with youth tees on every hole and a three-hole short course golf park.
