Opening to panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains, enchanting juniper trees, ancient lava caves, and stunning water features, Pronghorn golf courses have emerged as a bucket-list destination for golfers of all levels. The high desert landscape is complemented by beautiful rolling fairways and aesthetically sculpted greens while intertwining strategy and the challenging nature of the game. Pronghorn’s nationally acclaimed golf courses are maintained carefully with pristine grooming practices and have placed Pronghorn among the 25 Best Golf Communities in North America by Golf.com as well as Golf Digest’s Editors’ Choice Award 2017: Best Golf Resorts in the Pacific Northwest.

Pronghorn Resort opened the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in 2004 with Jack Nicklaus sending the very first tee shot right down the middle. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course provides a minimalist experience with an emphasis on the golf game itself, combining playability with smooth transitions and true putting surfaces.

The clubhouse and Tom Fazio Championship Course opened in 2007, creating the ultimate golf experience in Central Oregon. The masterful Tom Fazio designed course blends the complexity of championship golf with the inherent aesthetic of the natural terrain.

History of the Championship

The Pacific Northwest Pro-Am Championship started when a young head professional named John Junor and his amateur partner won back to back titles at the magnificent Seattle Golf Club in 1924 and 1926 (no championship in 1925). Professional Walter Pursey and amateur Harry Givan topped Junor in the late 30’s with a three-peat victory at Seattle GC twice and Alderwood GC once. Don Bies holds the record for most Pro-Am titles (1961, 1964, 1966, 1984). Other greats such as Bunny Mason (1963) and Jerry Mowlds (1969, 1978) have all had their share of the title.
