January 28, 2014 | admin From Don’s son: Don Kirkpatrick of Everett, a 50-year member of the PGA, died the morning of January 24. He was 85. He worked at Earlington Golf Course in Renton, Puetz Golf Range in Seattle and Whidbey Golf & Country Club in Oak Harbor, where he was head pro for a dozen years. He won the 1970 (Western Washington Chapter) PGA (Match Play) Championship and was the 1980 winner of the Pacific Northwest Senior PGA Championship. A celebration of Don’s life will begin at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Nile Shrine Golf Center, Mountlake Terrace, just west of I-5 at Exit 177 (in the Gold Room).
