Simplifying the Mental Game in Golf

This webinar will be held via Google Meet. Receive 1 PGA PDR or 1/2 AMP Education Credit for attending. Topics include:

  • “Thinking Right in Sport”  – (Again, only if you actually want to succeed.)
  • Mental Toughness – It’s not what you think!  Well, it actually IS what you think!
  • It all boils down to two skills – “Trust It!” and “Park It!”

Coach Dr. Rick McGuire, the founder and Director of the Missouri Institute for Positive Coaching, is a distinguished figure in coaching, sports psychology, and academia. His illustrious career includes serving as the Head Track and Field Coach at the University of Missouri for 27 years, where he coached athletes to 143 All American recognitions, 7 NCAA Champions, and 5 Olympians with two winning Olympic Silver Medals. McGuire’s contributions extend to academia, where he founded graduate programs in Sport Psychology, receiving numerous teaching awards for his dedication.

A trailblazer in sports psychology, he founded and chaired the USA Track and Field Sport Psychology program for 27 years and served on 11 USATF National Teams, including the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. Recognized for his lifetime service, he received the George Dales Award and was inducted into the University of Missouri’s Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. McGuire’s influence spans the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), where he is a founding member and recipient of the AASP Distinguished Practice Award. His commitment to Positive Coaching is evident through the Missouri Institute for Positive Coaching, impacting coaches and athletes alike. Currently residing in San Francisco, Dr. McGuire continues to shape the sports landscape through speaking at seminars, digital workshops, and his Online Masters Degree in Positive Coaching.
