Coston Wins PNW Senior PGA Professional Championship for 9th time

Jeff Coston of Semiahmoo won his ninth PNW Senior PGA Professional Championship in a one-hole playoff against Mark Keating of OGA Course. Coston previously won this event in 2006-2011, 2013 and 2019. In 2006, he also won the National Senior PGA Professional Championship.
Comparing this victory to his other Senior PGA Professional Championship wins, Coston said, “Tournament wins are all different, conditions, courses, weather, etc. I enjoy the opportunity to overcome interference, compete, take dead aim, trust myself and play a game worth playing.”
He added that there were “many wonderful players in the field so it feels super! Don’t tell anyone, but I’m not a senior yet!”
Coston was inducted into the PNW PGA Hall of Fame in 2013 largely due to an impressive list of credentials throughout his career.

When asked parts of Royal Oaks CC pair well with his game, he responded, “Every golf course demands a plan, preparation and purpose.”
He was also quoted as saying, “Royal Oaks is an amazing place. It’s difficult, takes patience, sticking with a proper strategic game plan and proper placement on the greens.”
In addition to Coston, Bob Rannow of Ocean Dunes, Tony Robydek of Meadow Parks GC, Todd O’Neal of Riverside G&CC, Jeff Marsh of Vancouver, WA and Tom Sovay of The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge all earned spots to the 32nd Senior PGA Professional Championship, to be played October 15-18, 2020 at PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker & Ryder Courses) in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Winning the Senior Division was Steve Reuhl of Marysville, WA while Don Otto of Portland, OR won the net competition in the senior division.
Jeff Coston also captured the Hugh Starkweather award, which goes to the low player for both rounds that is 60 years and older.
