Prugh and Hatley Win Third Pacific Golf & Turf PNW Pro-Am Championship as Duo

PGA Professional Corey Prugh of Community Colleges of Spokane and amateur Reid Hatley of Hayden Lake Country Club triumphed at the Pacific Golf & Turf PNW Pro-Amateur Championship held on October 5-6 at the Pronghorn Club in Bend, Oregon. The duo's exceptional performance in the championship clinched the title with a combined score of 128, finishing at an impressive -16.

This win was no stranger to the pair, who had previously triumphed twice in this championship, showcasing their remarkable chemistry on the course. In 2013, they claimed the title at Salish Cliffs, and they added another victory in 2021 at Palouse Ridge. Their synergy and ability to conquer the competition have only grown stronger over the years.

In the first round of the tournament, Prugh and Hatley demonstrated their intent by posting a solid score of 67 on the Nicklaus Course. However, it was in the second round where they truly shone. Corey Prugh exhibited remarkable precision by making an astounding six birdies and no bogeys, while Reid Hatley added one bogey but balanced it with a spectacular eagle, securing their victory with a round of 61 on the Fazio Course.

The team of PGA Professional Ross Kukula from Arrowhead Golf Club and amateur Kyle Cornett from Oregon Golf Club finished tied for second place, just one stroke behind the leaders. Their consistent rounds of 66-63-129 showcased their competitive spirit and skill on the course.

Joining them in a tie for second place were the team of PGA Professional Jared Lambert from Astoria Golf & Country Club and amateur Blake Kukula from Surfside Golf Course. Their impressive round of 61 in the second round was a testament to their ability to rise to the occasion after a modestly successful first round of 68.

The event witnessed a week of spectacular play, including two hole-in-one’s. PGA Professional Garrett Smithson made an ace during round one on Nicklaus Course hole 14, earning a prize from sponsor Hole-In-One USA. PGA Professional Matt Bunn made a hole-in-one during round two on Fazio Course hole 16.

We are grateful for the unwavering support of this event’s title sponsor, Pacific Golf & Turf. The tournament also received backing from supporting sponsors, Mizuno and Hole-In-One USA.
