Berg wins Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship

By Molly Cooper, PGA Director of Tournament and Member Programs

Professional Derek Berg of Glendale CC won the Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship by one stroke over Professional Josh Immordino of Riverbend GC. Berg fired a three under par 69 for his final round on the difficult Tualatin CC.

This is Berg’s first Pacific Northwest win as an PGA Professional though he has previously won two Northwest Open titles and an Oregon Open title in addition to a couple PNW Pro-Amateur Championship’s.

Berg and Immordino qualified for the 2011 Callaway Golf PGA Assistant National Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida – November 3-6, 2011. Good luck!

Special thanks to Sean Fredrickson and his staff at Tualatin CC for being our host and to Jay Poletiek, Karen Shannon, Tom Pope, Buck Morrow, and Callaway Golf for continuing to sponsor this championship. The Callaway representatives were on hand to support our players and hand out tee prizes.
