Advancement

Bear Creek CC

Located on lush, rolling terrain in the Cascade Mountain foothills, Bear Creek Country Club boasts a magnificent Jack Frei-designed championship layout. The course has served as home to numerous prestigious events, including the PNGA Amateur, Hudson Cup matches, two USGA Amateur Qualifiers, USGA Sr. Open Qualifier and the USGA Mid-Am Qualifier. Bear Creek CC previously hosted the PNW Senior PGA Championship in 2011 and 2019.

History of the Championship

The PNW PGA has been conducting the Assistant Championship since Fred Pelzer donated the trophy in 1965. The National Championship tradition began in 1976 to recognize the role of the Assistant PGA Professional and how important he or she may be in the success of a golf facility as well as our entire Association. They represent more than 10,000 men and women assistant professionals and registered apprentices nationwide. Last year, Colin Inglis of Shadow Hills CC won by two strokes over Liam Kendregan of Sand Point CC.
