Rosauers Open Invitational – Late Entries Available

The Rosauers Open Invitational is set to return July 13-15 to Indian Canyon GC. Our host, head PGA Professional Doug Phares, welcomes you to a great competition in almost certainly great weather. Get your entries in to this fantastic event in Spokane, WA.

The Rosauers Open is my favorite event of the year.  From the big scoreboards on the 18th green, to the always warm and sunny weather that we get that time of year and the fact that we play such a cool historic golf course in Indian Canyon.  It is an event that you should not miss.  Also if you really want to have a good time, play in the Rosauers hosted Pro-Am and stuff your face with tons of yummy goodness. – Corey Prugh, PGA

Join the Ranks of Champions

The Rosauers Open Invitational has been a part of the PNW PGA tournament program since 1988.  Indian Canyon GC has hosted all but three years of this event. PGA Professional Corey Prugh of Community Colleges of Spokane holds the record for the most wins (2009, 2011, 2013 & 2015). Amateur Derek Bayley set the 54 hole-tournament record of 189 (27-under par) at MeadowWood GC in 2016.

Last year, PGA Professional Brady Sharp won the 30th Rosauers Open Invitational in a playoff against Russell Grove of North Idaho College. Sharp shot 11-under par 60, an 18-hole tournament record at Indian Canyon GC. Will 2018 be another record-breaking year?

Professionals, Join the Franz Bakery Pro-Am

“The Rosauers Open Invitational is the best-run tournament of the year in the PNW Section, from the volunteers to every sponsor. If you want to enhance your experience, help the Section out and play in the Pro-Am prior to the event!” – Brady Sharp, PGA – 2017 Champion

The main reason the purse is so large is our sponsors! Professionals, after you sign up for the Rosauers Open Invitational, please do not forget to also sign up for the Franz Bakery Pro-Am on Wednesday-Thursday, July 11-12.  You will be paired with a sponsor team and have the opportunity to play the course in tournament conditions before the championship, enjoy a hosted breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, as well as win money and have a chance to thank our sponsors personally.

These sponsors also raise important funds of $105,000-$135,000 annually for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, the official charity of the Rosauers Open Invitational. Email Molly Cooper at mcooper@pgahq.com to let her know of your availability during the Franz Pro-Am. Participation in the pro-am is important to keeping this championship great!

Play one of Washington’s Most Desired Courses to Play

Indian Canyon was built in 1935 for $200,000.  H. Chandler Egan, a member of the PNGA Hall of Fame, crafted the Canyon’s layout over the well treed hillside southwest of the Spokane River.  Indian Canyon hosted the 1941 and 1984 Public Links Championships.  When Bill Welch was victorious in 1941, he concluded “After I played Indian Canyon, I never wanted to go back to Texas again.  I never saw a golf course that beautiful in my whole life…. I did return to Texas, but only to pack my bags and move to Spokane.”

This municipal track has been annually rated among Golf Digest’s “Best Public Courses”, “Best Affordable Courses”, “Best Golf Courses You Can Play”, “Best in State” and taken individually, some holes rank with the best holes found on any course – public or private – in the region.  Indian Canyon’s lofty acclaim is well deserved.
