Drive, Chip & Putt Registration Opens January 25

Open to boys and girls ages 7-15, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a program organized by the Masters Tournament, USGA, and PGA of America to engage kids and families in golf and grow the game. It’s gained immediate notoriety with its National Finals being conducted at Augusta National each year and broadcast on Golf Channel, kicking off Masters week in a fun and special way.

The National Finals is comprised of 80 kids – 40 boys and 40 girls – set to compete at Augusta National after advancing through three stages of qualifying: local, subregional and regional.

Professionals, Host a DCP Clinic

Last spring, several clubs hosted Drive, Chip & Putt Prep Clinics for the kids before the local and sub-regional qualifiers, and it worked out wonderfully.  The children who attended felt more at ease, better prepared and more confident.

If this is something you would like to do, please contact Angela Hinzpeter at ahinzpeter@pgahq.com. We will include your club’s name and information on our Drive, Chip and Putt clinics page.

Please provide the following information:

  • Club
  • Clinic dates
  • Contact info, for parents to use to sign up their kids for the clinic

Drive, Chip and Putt is successful for several reasons:

  • Accessible: For any kid, anywhere, and of any ability. It’s completely free, and the championship begins with more than 260 local qualifiers across all 50 states.
  • Non-intimidating: It’s designed to focus on golf’s three fundamental skills: driving, chipping and putting. So not just for kids who go out there and play 18 holes regularly.
  • Encouraging: At each qualifying stage, this program encourages kids by awarding medals in all three skills individually, in addition to the overall winners.
  • Inspiring: Gives kids the opportunity to play at some of the nation’s most incredible courses where their heroes have played and won. U.S. Open and PGA Championship sites, the Players Championship, and of course the chance to play at Augusta National and go to the Masters – the dream and experience of a lifetime.
  • Fun: Bottom line, this program is about helping kids have fun playing golf and growing the game.

We see growth in registration over every year, but we’re looking to bring as many kids and families into this program as possible. Registration opens January 25 for this summer’s local qualifiers, so we are helping get the word out and encouraging parents to sign their kids up today on the official website: www.DriveChipandPutt.com.
