February 2017 President’s Report

Dear Fellow PNWPGA Professionals,

The governance of your Section is taken very seriously by the Section Board, staff and committees.  I’m excited to announce a change in committees this year that will improve the development and enhancement of our professionals.

The “Professional Development Committee” is a newly created committee that will deliver important activities for your membership. The chairman will be newly elected Section Secretary, Sean Fredrickson.  The committee will lead the following activities of education, mentoring and orientation.  Under Sean’s guidance, a Section-wide education program will be developed that all 5 Chapters can align themselves with, delivering the programs in the timeframe and method that best suits each Chapter.  A database of mentoring professionals will be established. This resource will allow members to get ideas and guidance from experienced professionals in the field. It will be available by the end of the year.  The orientation process will be aligned through each Chapter chairman and the Section to ensure that all new apprentices get the same opportunities and information so that they can succeed in the process and have every opportunity to be active and productive members of their Chapter and Section.

This new endeavor is in perfect alignment with our Section’s mission statement; “serve our member and grow the game”.  I hope each of you will be able to take advantage of the products and programs this new committee will deliver. Please feel free to reach out to Jeff Ellison, Sean Fredrickson or myself if you have any comments or questions about this new committee.

The golf season will be upon us quickly, pro-ams will start very soon and I hope you will plan to attend the PNWPGA Pro-Assistant Championship and Section meeting in March.  We have many things to deliver to you including a special visit from PGA of America President, Paul Levy.

Please let me know if I can do anything for you!

Thank you,

Greg Manley, PGA
