The Pacific Northwest Section PGA is a not-for-profit organization and has an opportunity with the Western Washington Chapter PGA. The Western Washington Chapter PGA is one of 5 geographical regions of the Pacific Northwest Section and encompasses the area west of the Cascade crest from Canada to Chehalis. It includes approximately 420 PGA members and apprentices at golf facilities within the chapter. Our membership is a group of professionals dedicated to making golf a better game. They are the club professionals throughout Northwest Washington who are responsible for the day-to-day activities at the many facilities throughout the Chapter.

Part Time Tournament Assistant

Job Responsibilities

As a part time Tournament Assistant you will be expected to provide reliable, proactive, high-level support while covering a variety of different tasks and duties.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting with golf professionals, clients, vendors, partners and sponsors at the chapter pro-ams and tournaments.
  • Pro-Am computer operations.
  • Promoting chapter programs and activities
  • Installation and removal of signage and other equipment for each pro-am.
  • Work the Chapter Pro-Am schedule.

Requirements

As a part time Tournament Assistant, you must be highly conscientious and able to work independently with minimal supervision. You must also be very detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks & projects. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within and outside of the organization.

Specific qualifications for the part time Pro-Am Starter position include:

  • General knowledge of golf operations and tournament operations.
  • Rules of Golf and handicapping knowledge a plus.
  • Computer skills. Experience in TPP is very helpful.
  • Outstanding, positive customer service skills.
  • PGA Member or Apprentice preferred.
  • Able to travel according to the tournament schedule.
  • Willingness to work long hours during events.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Learn, follow and enforce policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Non-exempt, seasonal position.
  • Hourly: $14.00 -$16.00 DOE.
  • Tournament travel expenses paid.
  • The position earns no benefits.
  • Successful Background Check Required.
