~History of the PGA Professional Championship~

In 2000, the Pacific Northwest PGA Championship and the Section CPC merged to create one great tournament experience, with the top finishers going on to compete at the National PGA CPC Championship.  With a name change in 2006, the Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship now draws the strongest field of PGA members in the Northwest.

Last year, PGA Professional Ryan Benzel of Pro Golf Discount-Lynnwood won a sudden-death playoff over Jason Pitt of Chewelah G&CC and Corey Prugh of Manito G&CC to claim the Pacific Northwest PGA Professional Championship title.   Benzel lead after round two and opened the final round with three straight birdies, birdied 10 to go five under for the day and then parred the final 8 holes and held on for the victory.  Pitt fired the day’s low round of 64 to get into the playoff including a 31 on the back nine.

Ryan Benzel, Jason Pitt, Corey Prugh, Jeff Coston, Tim Feenstra, Brady Sharp, Scott Erdmann, Chris Lisk, Casey McCoy and Jerrel Grow all advanced to the 46th PGA Professional National Championship and will represent us this June at Sunriver.
