Please pass along this information to his follow colleagues and customers and anyone in the golf business and any friends you think they’d want to know as soon as you can. Also, we would love to express how appreciative we are with all the love and prayers we have received so far. It’s been so amazing and overwhelming in a wonderful way. We love our dad so much and will miss him so very much. He’s been such a light in all of our lives.

Jim Robert’s family also provided us with this initial information on August 30:

For those of you who haven’t heard, our dad was in a mountain biking accident on Tuesday night.  Initially we thought he had a heart attack that caused him to crash, but that was not the case.  He loved to mountain bike and loved going on different trails to try out.  He was crossing a narrow log that was about 3-4 feet off the ground which he had already done three times, and decided to go across one more time.  He crashed and landed face first.  He broke his C2 and C4 vertebra, which immediately stopped his ability to get oxygen which ultimately stopped his heart and oxygen flow to his brain.  This caused his brain to swell and is continually swelling.  His good friend who was with him immediately started CPR until the EMT arrived.  They have taken him to Harborview medical center in downtown Seattle.  He has had cat scans and MRIs showing severe head trauma due to swelling and has broken his neck.  He is currently on life support and has been non responsive since the accident.  At this point we are waiting for the family to get here, and we will have to make some decisions.  He has little brain function at the point, and if by some miracle woke up would be a quadriplegic and would have to have a ventilator.  We believe in miracles! But also know that god has a plan, and if this is his time, we will take comfort in eternal families and we will see him again!  Our dad is the best husband, father, son, and friend you could possibly have!  We are SO grateful for all of your thoughts and your prayers and ask that you continue them as our family has difficult decisions to make and heart breaking days ahead!  We love you all!
